Russia General Information
One of the major difficulties for international tourists is in deciphering Russian writing Most written material in the country is in the Cyrillic script and it is well worth learning the alphabet before arriving; once you have the words translated into the Roman alphabet it is easier to decipher. You will also find that learning to recognise the Cyrillic words for such things as "toilet" (and "Gents" and "Ladies"), "open" and "closed" is a valuable exercise.
