AlexandrovAlexandrov is a town in Vladimir Oblast, Russia, 120 km northeast of Moscow. The town of Aleksandrov served as Russia’s capital for 3 months when Ivan the Terrible was Tsar. The city came under the control of the Muscovite princes in 1302. The city is also the site of the first printing establishment in Russia, founded during the reign of Ivan IV, and of the famous Uspenski convent (late 17th century). |
